You know, in this day and age I couldn't fathom doing a top-X songs list. I'd be, like, "Track 14, Right to Chews", "Track 1, Brilliant", "Track 7, Lapalco", and so on. In the CD age, I have no freaking idea anymore what the names of songs are. I still remember when a friend told me in 1986 or whenever that he too liked the Peter Gabriel album So. (Or Us? the one with "Don't Give Up.") I asked him what he liked on it. He said, "7 and 10." I will say, though, that I could listen to "Why Winona Why" (Kennedys) and "Do Anything You Want to Do" (Flashcubes) 20 times in a row each. And I heard them both for the first time on the same night, at IPO NY. ----- Original Message ----- From: Harris, Will To: Sent: Tuesday, January 28, 2003 10:38 AM Subject: Re: best songs of 2002 > Hmmmmm...it's always harder to do a top 5 songs than it is to do a top 20 > albums (but, mathematically, I guess that stands to reason), but here's my > best shot: > > Top 5 originals: > > 1.
