 Yes they sure could!   One of my astute friends bought Supersnazz when it was released in 1969 and that was the beginning of my addiction.  Of course, they changed members and morphed into something else but if you picked up on the Roy Loney & Phantom Movers LPs during that time frame you also could get your fix of unhinged r'n'r.
I saw the Cyril and Roy reunion shows in New Orleans (Ponderosa Stomp) and Hoboken (Maxwell's) years ago and made me wish for a full-scale reunion of the original members.  I'm not sure if Danny Mihm has recovered form the stroke he suffered about 5 years ago....
