Hey Mark,
It wasnât a Not Lame sampler, it was my Scandinavian Pop Sampler which Bruce kindly linked to one day many years ago. You can see all ten volumes here:
http://www.popsiclerecordings.com/samplers/
Loudean were definitely one of the more obscure bands of the era. Just one EP and one album on MNW and a few singles (some of the B-sides were non-album tracks)
But I donât think they ever played outside of Sweden or got much promo beyond those two cheap videos.
Peter Andersson and Jon Allesson founded the band and they went on to form The Klerks, another excellent band who suffered a similar fate. Youâll find them on the samplers too.
I tried tracking the singer a while ago (canât remember her name) but I donât think she did any music after Loudean.
There are so many great bands from Sweden who made one album in the 90s and sank without trace, itâs infuriating.
Luke

I was exposed to the Swedish (?) group Loudean on one of the NotLame compilations - one about Swedish power pop. They released only one CD, which I own. I am crazy about the CD but can find no info anywhere about members, what they have done since, etc - no leads to new music. YouTube has two of their videos with zero comments. Can anyone supply any info about this band, the lead singer in particular?

Also frustrating: Just left Stockholm, following a fruitless search for CDs
of just the kind of music that was on your samplers, Luke (of which I have
all 10). I had been hoping this trip would turn up a few gems, at least in
the used bins, but I hadn't anticipated the complete drought. Looks like
physical-product music retail is as dead here as in the U.S.
Had a great time traveling through Scandinavia, though. Just no music bonus.
