Seems as though this band was mentioned several years back but I finally got around to purchasing the Portable Pop cd. This has some great songs and the influence of the Beatles is present as well as that of contemporaries like Dwight Twilley/Phil Seymour,Plimsouls,Big Star,Shoes,etc. 
There is also a live performance cd available from the same label and a cd by another band called Hot Freak Nation consists of members of the Late Show and the Reigning Sound. The label is headed by ex Reigning Sound and ex Arthur Lee's Love drummer Greg Roberson.The Trashed Romeos is a local superband with some the people already mentioned covering Memphis 60s Nuggets. They offer vinyl,cds,cassettes and digital downloads so get in there and check it out. 
Many samples are available. I am really digging the Late Show cd and am aiming to listen to the Trashed Romeos next. I bought one cd by each of the other bands to get a good sampling. Enjoy!
