Always great to read lists like these. Thanks!
What a surprise to find Sylvie Lewis up in #3. I have a crush on her, so to
speak! :)
Not "power pop" or anything remotely similar, for those of you who never
heard of her, but worth checking out. Through the years I have developed a
love for alt folk female singers (and I see you have too!) and she may well
be my number one (hearing the Rutles song in my head now...). :) I have
seen her a few times (last one a couple of months ago only and I can't wait
for next time).
As a side note, Gene, Tangos and Tantrums is not her debut album as you
write in your review. Her first album was called "Beautiful Mess", and was
released in 2001. Quite hard to find. Most places on the Internet do not
know about this either. It's not as good as Tangos, Translations or True,
but there are a few gems there. You can see her potential was about to
explode.
She has also released a few songs here and there, some on Italy, where she
lives now, and there's also an ultra-rare Christmas ep with three songs. I
got it from her at one of her shows and she couldn't even remember the date
of its release -my guess would be around 2008-. It's fabulous. Two original
songs (I believe, as there is no information about it) and a heart-stopping
version of Silent Night.
The AK Ellis album is available at Bandcamp here.

If there's one thing you can criticise her for, that's being a bit lazy
when it comes to release albums. She has plenty of new songs, as you can
see at her intimate shows.
