I don't really do year-end best-of lists--too much work, and I'm
generally a single-song kinda guy anyway--but there were two great
all-covers albums released in 2012, and I don't believe they've come up
in discussion yet. These were probably my two favorite albums this
year.
THE PRIMITIVES: Echoes And Rhymes
THE FLASHCUBES: Sportin' Wood (a Roy Wood tribute record)
There were a great many other albums I enjoyed a lot this year,
including
Eytan Mirsky: Year Of The Mouse
Nelson Bragg: We Get What We Want
Redd Kross: Researching The Blues
...but the list is random. Like all years, lotsa great pop music out
there.
