Yeah, the Mike Keneally / Andy Partridge collaboration is awesome.
A few more XTC related releases from 2012:
Colin Moulding appears on a Supertramp tribute album doing vocals on a gorgeous version of 'It's Raining Again'. He also contributes vocals to one of the better tracks on Billy Sherwood's Prog Collective project.
Dave Gregory plays in two prog bands that released albums in 2012:
Tin Spirits - 'Wired To Earth' is highly melodic guitar-oriented prog with lots of chiming 12-strings. Highly recommended if you're not too allergic to prog.Big Big Train- 'English Electric Vol 1' is not only the best prog album of 2012 but it's also one for the ages. It has a vibe that is like a cross between 'Selling England By The Pound' by Genesis and XTC's 'English Settlement'. Indeed, it's very English! A truly outstanding album.
Cheers,
Lee
