I haven't bought a 45 since I found a copy of the (original) Cowsills
final release Covered Wagon / Blue Road (London, 1971) a few years ago.
But after stumbling across a reissue gem 30 minutes ago I must share.
Ugly Things has reissued the Trains b/w the previously unissued Fragile
Child. Ordered, no questions asked.

Press release: THE NASHVILLE RAMBLERS - The Trains / Fragile Child
With The Trains, San Diego's Nashville Ramblers, aided and abetted by
producer Mark Neill, expertly channeled their key influencesBeatles,
Remains, Hollies, Everly Brothers, and othersand shaped them into
something fresh, urgent and breathtakingly original. Recorded in 1985,
it may be the greatest pop song of the entire era. Outside a small
circle of fans, though, very few people ever heard it. It appeared
briefly in 1986 on an obscure compilation LP in the UK and found new
life in 2005 on Rhino's Children of Nuggets box. Both, however, were
mastered from inferior sources.
Fully remastered by Mark Neill in sparkling high-fidelity sound,
directly from the original vacuum tube analog 3-track master tape, this
shiny black 45rpm single presents The Trains as it was always meant to
be heard. It's paired with a terrific, previously unreleased version of
the Golliwogs Fragile Child, recorded at the same session. Deluxe hard
cover picture sleeve.

Are there any other studio recordings of The Nashville Ramblers floating
around?
Now if someone would give a couple of The Mosquitos best cuts the same
treatment.
Cheers on a warm & sunny Northern California Saturday!
