Man, I suck at new stuff this year. Not that I'm ever fully on top of the newest releases, but I'm further behind than usual. Spotify has reduced me to listening to a gigantic, shuffled playlist. My playlist has a lot of the new stuff on it, but I rarely listen to whole albums, so I don't know them nearly as well as I should. Anyway, among the new releases I actually listened through enough to know them pretty well, these are my favorite six: 1. Hans Rotenberry and Brad Jones - Mountain Jack (So great to hear new stuff by Brad!)
2. Sloan - The Double Cross (better than the last one)
3. Matthew Sweet - Modern Art (best from him in a few)
4. Dark Ocean Colors - Dark Ocean Colors (Pillbug Mark Mikel's new project)
5. Able Archer - The Way Machines See Us (Splitsvillian Matt Huseman's new project)
6. The Red Button - As Far As Yesterday Goes (disappointing compared to the debut, but still a good listen) That's all I got. Looking forward to the poll results so I can get with it! And thanks to Matt for compiling it! Gary
