Views (see Amazon) do seem to be mixed on this album. I think it is
quite good, and really not *that* different from other albums by
Matthew. I wouldn't call the guitar playing psychedelic.

Mojo: If push comes to shove, what is your all-time favourite album?
Harry Shearer: Right now it would be Apple Venus by XTC. Every fucking
song on that record is a killer, and I just think it's Beatles-esque
in the best sense of the term. We'll never see it live, which I both
treasure and bemoan.
