Cd arrived on Saturday and after spending some time with it I will say I don't really hear the REM,dBs,etc references people have been bandying about but I do hear a very strong Shins resemblance. Some other bands I am reminded of are Spirea X,Robin Lane and the Chartbusters and Brian Jonestown Massacre.
I think it is a really enjoyable disc and I look forward to more material from these guys in the future.
best,
ryan

I understand they performed reunion shows together a year or so ago along the east coast which makes sense since they were originally from Virginia and may still reside there.

Whatever you want to call it, I'm absolutely loving their album, Paper Cuts, which was released last month. I'm hearing a bit of early REM as well as The Connells and The Feelies. So addictive. They mostly play in Dallas-Fort Worth and Denton but I was lucky enough to see them in Austin when they shared a bill with Leatherbag (singer and guitarist, Randy Reynolds, turned me onto them) and Right or Happy ? (formerly called The Reivers). You can check out the album here : http://theblurries.bandcamp.com/album/paper-cuts.
