Harold Evans from Poole was in the Throes early on. I saw them open for the Choir back in the early 90s. They put on a great show. I understand they performed reunion shows together a year or so ago along the east coast which makes sense since they were originally from Virginia and may still reside there.

btw...do you know if that Blurries cd is a cd or cdr?
thanks

Jenn.....

Thank you for the heads-up on The Blurries!

Just received my CD ($7 delivered to my mailbox) of their album...great jangly up tempo tunes. In addition to the comparisons you mention below, I've seen the db's come up and I would add my own, Christian alternatives The Throes......

Highly Recommended!
Thanks again!

I'm hearing a bit of early REM as well as The Connells and The Feelies. So addictive. They mostly play in Dallas-Fort Worth and Denton but I was lucky enough to see them in Austin when they shared a bill with Leatherbag (singer and guitarist, Randy Reynolds, turned me onto them) and Right or Happy ? (formerly called The Reivers). You can check out the album here : http://theblurries.bandcamp.com/album/paper-cuts.
