Subject: The Explorers Club
Forgive the shameless hype, I haven't posted on here in years (since I had Flagship Recordings and managed Eugene Edwards) --- now managing The Explorers Club. I have to assume SOME of you heard their album, "Freedom Wind" (Dead Oceans, 2008) --- Well, three long years, do you still want me... (sorry, Tony Orlando channeled my thoughts...)
The Explorers Club will return with a new album "Grand Hotel" (Rock Ridge Music, 2012) in mid-February, but in the meantime, to set up the release, we are giving away some free music on Amazon.com beginning October 25th.
The first release from the band will be The Californian Suite, and will include a cover of "Walk On By" (non-LP) and two "under construction" mixes of new Explorers Club songs that will appear on the album in Mark Linett-mixed form! Yes, Mark Linett took on the project and is mixing "Grand Hotel" for The Explorers Club. Very exciting, and brilliant!
The band will be putting some live content on their youtube site where they have already posted some announcements about the suites (The Carolinian Suite, with a cover of "Stormy" follows on November 22nd, and the New Yorker Suite, with "Hitchin' A Ride" will follow in late-December.)
