Timmeh Boykin's 1st band the Carnival Season?
That was reissued on Arena Rock a few years back.

Trying to remember the name of a lesser known U.S. power pop band that was
discussed on Audities many years back. All I can remember-from Louisiana or somewhere deep South, circa 70s-80s, reissued within the 00's, big
regionally but not nationally/internationally...ring any bells?
