I tried, but could never get past that "Freddy" looks exactly like
Adrian Grenier (Vincent Chase in Entourage). Tho it does appear the
music we call power-pop is shaking it's jangly ass again in the youth
market, but with a distinctly healthy dance orientation. My faves from
last year Two Door Cinema Club appear to be conquering all (so, so
awesome live), tho I'm hoping Friendly Fires becomes their Rolling
Stones counterpoint.

Speaking of Adrian Grenier, if you get the chance, I highly recommend
Grenier's self-made documentary from 2001 (before fame) about tracking
down & reuniting with the father he never knew, mostly due to his hippy
commune mother. Not all all the typical missing father story.

Cheers,

  - Michael

NP: A pile of cool obscure power-pop, new wave, etc singles which I'd
never heard of, much less heard, courtesy of the new-to-me blog
