True...but he didn't ask for the best "A" side/"B" side....he asked for the best 45, giving the example of "Overnight Sensation" as the first tune.
Altho--I DO agree with your assessment of the A/B side stuff....I practically wore out Day Tripper/We Can Work It Out
I may get flak for this, but another I would add as a contender would be: Valleri, by The Monkees.....a very strong single, IMHO.

Fields Forever if only because both sides were so strong. Good Vibrations
was phenomenal, but Let's Go Away for Awhile, while a very fine
instrumental, ⦠let me put it this way. Imagine if it had been Good
Vibrations/Wouldn't It Be Nice or Good Vibrations/Heroes and Villains?
Paperback Writer/Rain and We Can Work It Out/Day Tripper are other
