I have similar reactions to his music, like he's trying too hard to be
"in" or

And speaking of being dragged to shows by your kids. Not sure exactly
who was dragging whom, but in the past 2 months my daughter & I caught 2
of our absolute favorites, Two Door Cinema Club at the Fillmore in SF
and Friendly Fires, also in SF. Both groups were outstanding, tho Two
Door Cinema Club took their performance to another level altogether. All
their constant touring is paying off handsomely and they showed no signs
of fatigue or song boredom. For a band that's gotten scant airplay in
the USA, the sold-out crowd knew all the songs, with batches of
sing-a-longers interspersed about. Must be due to that Intertubes thingy
I keep hearing about, that and a few TV commercials. As for Friendly
Fires, this was at least their 4th SF visit, according to my daughter
who'd attended the 4, and they focused on their new LP Pala. I wanted to
write that it's more dance oriented than the first, tho as they're so
rhythmic, I'll just say it has more BPM - heh.

NP: The Apricot - A Forestful Of Threes. Yet even more music from
Norway, in a pop psych-y, Status Quo vernacular
