Subject: New Fountains Of Wayne...Sky Full Of Holes

A couple days ago, my friend who owns a record store loaned me his
advance copy of "Sky Full Of Holes", the upcoming FOW album, which is
coming out on YepRoc.

Now, mind you, I am not a true blue fan of FOW...I have their cds, but
have only fallen in love with a very few of their songs. (So thus, I'm
probably not the guy to say exactly how this new album compares with the
previous....)

That said, I find this album quite great. I've listened to it in its
entirety 4 times in a row, and usually, I start skipping tracks by the
third listen or so.

It's full of power pop, and pop rock, but what I have in my mind as
comparison to past work is that there is a little more heart showing
than previously. They are still quite smart alecky with some of their
lyrics, but I find some nostalgia going on,and even some genuine serious
consideration of human connection.

One of the ways I think of it is that it is the perfect Fountains Of
Wayne album for YepRoc. Fits in perfectly.
