for NJ, I believe that some guy named Springsteen has written a couple of tunes
about our beloved state... :)

- 4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)
- Born to Run (which actually got some consideration as the official state song)
- Jersey Girl

you could even reference him for Maryland... Hungry Heart

lots of Fountains of Wayne songs have NJ city references, too

have fun!

Subject: Fifty States

Morning/Afternoon/Evening [delete as applicable] all.

In Mar/Apr of next year i'll be driving across America (
http://mattwhitby.net/Content/USRoadTrip/Default.aspx?page=about) and i'd
like to make a bunch of compilation CDs for the car.

I was thinking it would be fun to make an album of songs for each State in
the US (even though, of course, I won't visit each one).

I'm thinking of stuff like;

"The night they drove old Dixie down" by The Band -- Tennessee

"I won't go Hollywood" by Bleu -- California

"Rambling on My Mind" by Robert Johnson -- Mississippi
Any suggestions?

etc.
