glad you like the version of TFC's "Don't Look Back" me and my friends
recorded. I really appreciate all the feedback I've gotten, much of it
positive. not sure what else I'll get to do, but perhaps I'll work on
doing something else soon. It's difficult being 3-4 hours away from
most of my friends whom I'd like to create music with, but we'll see!!
as for the Fanclub's 15 minutes of fame? I'm not sure they're looking
for fame. They were asked to play the tv show and who would pass that
up?
of course, I'm a long time fan and love the entire recorded output.
Anxiously awaiting Gerry Love's solo record that's apparently in the
works. and Norman's project with Euros Childs, Jonny will be released
early in the new year.
they still put on an amazing show (5 of which I saw this past
week!)....adding Dave McGowan to the band is a really nice addition.
The pedal steel on some of the songs sounds amazing. he's usually
playing keys and also adds a third guitar on a couple songs. he's
definitely a tad bit more than the utility guy. hearing all 5 of them
singing together is heavenly at certain moments.
they're extremely appreciative of those of us who support them and
spend time talking to whomever approaches them. This tour is very
stripped down in the sense they're basically setting up their own gear
and touring in a van.
the crowd in Philly was surprisingly amazing with almost non-stop
singing along and a second encore. sadly it was only one song, since,
apparently, the venue starts charging the band when they go over.
of course, I'm biased.
been following them since about age 18, that's 20 years now.
I'm certainly not going to try to change anyone's mind, but my
experience has been nothing but positive & bordering sublime, and my
support for them will only continue.
