I've had similar problems: can't find my SOTT tracklists, or somehow have other unidentified digital tracks on my computer.

There's an iPhone "app" called Shazam. If you play 10-15 seconds of music, Shazam can usually identify artist/song for you. It's fascinating, and works surprisingly well. On rare occasion (e.g., especially w/ obscure stuff), it can't identify the music.

So I often use this to ID my unknown SOTT music.

I'm curious as to how exactly the program works. Obviously, it compares the sampled sound to some database.

I use it constantly in the car with music on the radio.
