Probably the greatest compliment to those running the list is that they made
a seamless transition and the tone has been the same as when your guiding
hand was on the tiller. But you're still the Chairman of the Board, Mr.
Coxe, and you always will be.

I abhor the "how many friends I have" posture of MySpace and Facebook but
I'm on the wrong side of the target market curve for such things. I don't
deny that I am happy when a post on my blog gets a big spike in hits, but
the central focus is the content, not how many "followers" I have.
I think the whole McNugget trend - let alone the impersonal communication
methodologies that have replaced face to face conversations - have devalued
the concept of discussion. I love that there is so much information
available, but I hate how instantly disposable it is.
Obviously the chatter here is a mere shadow of what it once was. I'm not
certain if that's just natural atrophy, discussions moving to
Facebook/Twitter or maybe just the lack of centralized discussion with so
many more options available. I know I'm saying things in a blog where five
years ago I used Audities posts.

PS - is it too late to hope that we get a voluminous "Best of the first half
of 2010" out of David Bash?
