Niall, I understand the sentiments and I agree and I hope you weren't taking my comments as being selfish. "How could he do this to me" or anything like that, as that wasn't how I meant it. It's just that usually there is some explanation behind why a person takes this action. Maybe Owsley fought depression all his life, maybe something catastrophic happened over the past few days. Certainly no explanation is "owed" me or anyone else. It just sort of came out of the blue for me. Maybe those that knew him better are aware of daily struggles etc but for me, with Amy Grant's new record doing relatively well, I thought he was going to hit the road again for her and do what he had done for many years. Of course, it is sad for the family despite whatever verbiage one uses to describe the action, as if the verbiage actually mattered one whit (it doesn't). What matters is that he is gone but instead of just sitting here wondering, I decided to just ask as I was hoping someone might have known what drove him to that point.

Scott,
Sorry to hear your weekend was ruined by Will Owsley's sudden departure
rom this mortal coil. When any person takes their own life(Kill's
hemselves seems a bit trite, crass) it's the people he leaves behind
ife,Children,Parents etc,who I feel are the only people entitled to
ause/explanation for his actions.
We in the market place, only want to acknowledge his contribution, to
ur world of great Pop music, and for that we are eternally grateful.
Our thoughts are with the people, who he left behind, and his memories
ill still be spinning on our players for years to come. Thanks for the
usic Will, you were one of the greats.
Niall

This whole story has ruined my weekend, no doubt about it. And I dread
elling a friend of mine who's question to me just about everytime we
alk is "so have you heard anything about Owsley putting out another
lbum?" It seems to be confirmed, but no one seems to have the story
ther than he has killed himself. Does anyone know why he chose this
oint to do this? Had something happened in the recent past to cause him
o want to kill himself? I ask because I have yet to see anything near
n explanation in any of the stories about what he was despondent about.

 Hi,

course, his brilliant originals. I'm sure I reviewed the show here.

Such a loss makes me grateful for those who remain to entertain us.
