I went to Rasputin Records in San Francisco today, and found the new Nada Surf covers cd on the shelf. (Yes, I was violating my wife-imposed cd buying ban. I'm sure she would not have minded for this particular cd.)
When I tried to buy it, I was told it was intended for Record Store Day only, and should not have been still on the shelf. They refused to sell it to me.
I realize RSD was a promotional event, and that's how these things work sometimes, but it seems ridiculous. Ironically, I will probably download the album instead. I'm sure that is not what RSD was meant to promote.
