Went down to Music Millennium - Portland OR - not a very rare experience
for me since it's owned by a buddy. 4 new cds, and 2 used.

The new ones:

Locksley - "Be In Love" (so far, love a few of the songs as much as
anything on the last album...very happy with it.)

Nada Surf - "If I had A Hi - Fi" (so far, big time in love with this.
There are a lot of songs that came out during my hiatus from
rock'n'roll, and in checking out the clips,
I'm tending to love these jangly versions better.)

Peter Wolf - "Midnight Souvenirs" (haven't listened, except a couple on
line clips...will hit it tomorrow when I drive from New Orleans to
Jackson MS).

Sand - s/t (A reissue for a local country-rock band from the early 70's.
Originally out on Barnaby (Andy Williams' label, through CBS), this was
a bit wimpy compared to their live act, but since they had incredible
songs, not all was lost. Lead sing Jack (Charles) Meussdorfer...later
Jack Charles of Quarterflash - and lead guitarist Dan Ross, were
songwriting partners, amazing harmony singers, and very talented.
Eventually, I got very sick of their love affair for synchronized lead
guiar ala the Allman Brothers, but - for a couple years - they were my
favorite band in town. Haven't listened to the cd yet, but since the
cover is an obvious scan of the original cover, I fear that this is just
a burn from vinyl).

Anybody else in this thread?

For RSD I got a sweet 4 year old child with an average of 102.5 fever
who's mom had to be at a conference, then a dinner in her and other
founding faculty's honor. But! I did get a portable record player given
to me last week. Perfect for the 4 year old with a fever to play Magical
Mystery Tour on.
Yin and Yang.

The fever broke last night after nearly 3 days.
Dr. said it's going around, moms and dads. Just sayin'.
later,joe

p.s. It's cool to see what folks got on RSD. Most of ya went, so if ya
get a minute please post your pile.
