I saw a few emails on her last evening about the sudden passing of Alex Chilton, and I went over to a pile of books I just bought to find something for bedtime reading. I picked up "Life is a mix tape" by the music critic Rob Sheffield...... and on page 3, while talking about meeting his wife, it is written "I met Renee in Charlottesville, Virginia, when we were both twenty-three. When the bartender at the Eastern Standard put on a tape, Big Star's Radio City, she was the only other person in the room who perked up."

freaky..........

Heard it on NPR this morning. What terrible news. I had "19 Years" on in the car this a.m.

Probably not the first to post this; but sad, still...
