Hey,
EMI recently released some really cool back catalogue titles but they are only available as downloads. Even worse, they are only available as downloads in the UK.
I could go on and on about how stupid it seems that the music industry still can't get out of it's own way by making something as easy to distribute as a download available in all countries. I guess they're too busy selling recording studios to modify license agreements and open up new markets for distribution. Another topic for another time, perhaps.
But I am wondering if anyone on the list knows of sites or workarounds for how a US resident can purchase 'import downloads' (much in the same way we purchase import CDs)? Very specifically, I'm looking for two new Kevin Ayers remasters (Rainbow Takeaway and That's What You Get Babe) if anyone happens to know where I might find those.
And while I am in delurk mode: I am happy to announce that Blue Cartoon is back from hiatus and we're working on a new recording which we hope to have available by year end. And, we'll do our best to make sure y'all can download it from anywhere. :)
Cheers,
Lee
