"Get The Knack" was a big part of my teenage years. It was released the
same year that I got my driver's license and it was constantly in my car's
8-track player (funny...I bought it on cassette, vinyl, CD and remastered
CD, as well). I think it, along with "The Cars", were the two albums that
really formed the foundation that my love of Power Pop was built upon.
There is no question it remains in my Top 10 favorites.

And yes, Berton Averre's guitar solo during the long-version of "My
Sharona" is on my list of Top 10 guitar solos, too).

Very sad to hear of Doug's passing.

Whit

RIP Doug Fieger. From back when we thought power pop had a chance.
All critical scorn aside (and disregarding the smarminess with which they
were marketed), that first Knack album is top shelf power pop from start to

finish.

(and the long-version My Sharona guitar solo is one of my top 10 lifetime.)
