From my perspective, it's because the Who suck now.

I'm a guy who went to see the Who every now and again through the '90s and 
'00s.  I thought, when they had the 5-piece, Pete, Roger, John plus Starkey 
and Rabbit Bundrick, that they had gotten pretty damned good again.  Then 
Entwhistle died... and no knock on Pino Palladino, but that was it for them. 
They just don't sound like the Who anymore.  I went to see them with Pino, 
thought they sucked, listened to an official bootleg with him, thought it 
sucked, and I'm done with them.

Again, no knock on Palladino; he's good.  But when Entwhistle died the Who 
died with him.
