I've enjoyed the Who discussion.

I had mixed feelings watching them. I'll spare most of my thoughts since many of you have touched on them.

But…..that said...Watching them for me brought up that age old question of "should" older rockers continue to rock like they are still 20 years old…bouncing around, singing songs about teenage angst and so on? Or "should" they try embrace aging and sing about subject matter that relates to where they (and many of us) are at in life (Nick Lowe comes to mind)? I know there is no right answer and "shoulds" are pointless but that was one thing that came to mind for me while watching the Who at halftime. I know either choice by an aging perform can work and also can fail miserably. I guess it's just not an easy task to age in Rock and Roll..and that's fine.

Bare with me but I also wondered while watching the show what my response to seeing the "super bowl" version of The Who would be without ANY history of knowing them. You know, I think both when I enjoyed them and also my rejection of aspects of this show was as much about their history/legacy of performances then the actual performance itself. I wonder what one's reaction would be if this was the first time you ever saw them play or ever heard of them? I'm not trying to be snarky, trippy or clever for that matter…

 Just rambling…
:)
