Seriously, you haven't lived until you've seen The Mini Opera from the
Stones' Rock and Roll Circus portion of "Kids".
It was the reason that Circus wasn't released for 30 years, as the Who
absolutely blew them away.
Never saw them with Moon, but saw them several times, including all of
"Quadrophenia" in a little hall in Paris. I was 5 feet away from Pete. Best
concert I ever saw. Zak was not Moon, but a more than able stand in. And the
Ox solo in "5:15" was jaw-dropping.
They have lost a bit without Entwistle, however. Saw 'em in 2006 without JE,
and something was missing sonically.
Still, they were great. Maybe not as good as the old days, but still
incredibly fun, with ace musicianship all around.
