I read a brief overview, and it truly seems to be focused on his formative years, such as the varying influences of his mother and aunt... and while the characters of Paul and George make appearances, apparently the word "Beatles" is never uttered

Sundance filmfest is offering up this year a film about John Lennon's  
early life, called Nowhere Boy.  I'm sure after the fest, it will get  
picked up for distribution.
