 I'm not sure who sells the programming for the "piped in music" at the malls and fast food stores, but at least in the Midwest US we always get a healthy dose of Christmas tunes from Chris Stamey and Shoes and Material Issue.  Is this a Midwestern thing, or is it all over the country?

 

Yuletunes remains my all-time fave Christmas CD, and has become a household tradition for 12/25 morning listening.
