Mike Hodges wondered:

I'll hazard some guesses:
* The "circus act" atmosphere of his early tours made him seem more showman
than artist, in a period where rock music was supposed to be taken Very
Seriously Indeed
* Cooper's open mocking of those who took their rock music Very Seriously
Indeed.
* Not that many timeless/megaseller songs: "School's Out" was the only
Alice Cooper single to make the Billboard Top Ten.
* Questionable influence: How many of the glam-ish acts to follow Cooper
were influenced by him specifically, rather than more established, respected
acts working that territory, like Bowie?
* Decades of obscurity since the fame. RRHOF voters like to see a long-arc
career, and Vincent Furnier has been playing golf instead.
There are probably more reasons, but those occurred to me first.
Also occuring to me: I believe this may be the 12th or 15th round of RRHOF
inductions to be hashed out here on Audities. Am I right, fellow old-timers?
