From my experience there are really three models/styles of sites to think about:

1) Blog - The best blogs usually result from tight(er) editorial control. You can think of a good blog as being like a cyber-Zine. Something like "Pop Sided" was great because they had a great voice. The downside to this model is you need to have REALLY dedicated leadership, especially with something like power pop.

2) Message Board - This is a more community driven model with anyone posting content. This can work, but we have the recently Linus of Hollywood launched Power Pop News out there which is also under-utilized. If this is what folks want to do, I say go make that one work. The beauty of them is once they get going they basically run themselves.

3) Hybrid Blog/Board - Sites like these split their mission. They generally have editorially controlled content AND ways for people to comment, post links or write their own stories. I'm part of a site like this (a St. Louis Blues hockey site called St. Louis Game Time ) which has writers providing regular content, and sections called Fan Links and Fan Posts where everyone else can chime in.

All three models have strengths and weaknesses.

My two cents....

It would be a place for Audities members to post;
Reviews, Interviews, Events, Links, Articles.
etc.
Really it'd be a more secure and better stuctured home for the
udities members to present information pertaining to the music they
ove. Man, i've made that sound like the most boring site ever.
I was looking at the rather wonder site; http://www.soundwayrecords.com/
and wish that Audities had a site like that.
I believe if we all posted to it regularly then it would become an
xcellent source of Pop related loveliness.

As the only person really using it, I thought I'd jump in. I think there is
a small audience for the blog, and I have even received a few submissions
for review. I mean, these people could just be going to any blog that's out
there, not specifically looking for this one, so I don't think that's
necessarily a meter of success. I'm not sure what you would have in mind for
a proper site... What would people want out of a site like this? And what
would a site like that provide that people couldn't get elsewhere?
