I'd also like to throw out for consideration...

KEVIN McADAMS - My Time to Lose My Mind
Smart, catchy and elaborately crafted pop with lots of synth
and electronic textures. Total ear candy. Kevin is also the drummer
for the NYC band Elefant, but this is purely a solo outing. Awesome!!

WIRETREE - Luck
A densely melodic blend of chimey guitar and plunky piano pop,
sleepy and sublime melodies. Shades of Elliot Smith and The Shins
Very impressive debut! www.myspace.com/wiretree

For your consideration; Marshall Crenshaw's Jaggedland - his best in years.
The songs were wonderful live at a recent City Winery show with his band
that included the mighty Graham Maby. The flow with his new and old
material made for an exciting evening.

Clearly not in contention is Dylan's Christmas album. I love the man but
this stuff is kinda' creepy.

Wondering if anyone is compiling the usual Audities year-end poll this
year? (... Mike ?)

Kind of a lean year for stellar releases, but definitely some notables
(Jason Falkner, Brendan Benson, Tinted Windows)

Recently, I've been digging this Canadian band's new album "Territory"

Check out the title track on the MS page:

 Solid, punchy, well-crafted indie pop.

I did it last year and I'm happy to do so again; if we can agree on a
methodology.
