Hi there,

The words from Sam are absolutely true.

Being french and knowing Xavier from Tahiti 80 a bit (who know lives in Paris), they are not really playing in the same scene as Phoenix & Air even though we all might see points of comparison in their musics.

Tahiti 80 & Fugu are a lot closer musically and also by their friendship (Fugu's 2nd album being produced by Xavier - very good album by the way!).

Also, due to their visibility in movies Phoenix, like Air, are a much bigger band herte than T.80. I would say theay more trendy. That said both bands are really good live performers and I would encourage everybody to go to their shows!

I couldn"t ended without mentioning my band, Cheap Star, which plays a more "classic" pop music (having recorded with Ken & Jon from the Posies) ;-) Of course we're a smaller indie band, but check out our review by Jack Rabid in the Big Takeover! :o)

Cheers,

Remi
