Emerging from deep lurkdom to target a couple of Auditeer's -- Joe Giddings and Joe Field, specifically -- and anyone else with even a passing interest in classic-yet-modern-sounding prog-rock.
My band Mars Hollow is 100% done with our debut album (produced by King Crimson associate Ronan Chris Murphy); there's a teaser track (the 9:30 album opener "Wait for Me") available here:

This song encapsulates everything about this band: strong vocal hooks, intense musical passages, hooky choruses, and lots of left-turns in the arrangement department.
I'm astonished to report that we have already fielded one offer from a small but well-respected independent prog rock label and have no less than three other offers pending with some bigger but still independent labels. That speaks volumes about the quality of the project, and I'm excited to settle on a home for our little monster.
Sorry for the SELF PROMOTING ARTIST MESSAGE (SPAM) but, you know, come on -- I've been here since 1998 and I don't do this all that often, do I?
On a sort-of pop music note, there's a (now defunct) band called Moth Vellum that fans of mellow-er YES-style songwriting might enjoy. Look 'em up, it's pretty great stuff with fantastic vocals (Jellyfish quality, if I may be so bold) and great, catchy melodies. And a few odd time signatures as well.
