in all seriousness, many of Gershwin's compositions dealt with love and longing.... as do many of Wilson's....
 
I can see a clear link between these composers and perhaps having a template to work from will inspire Brian to reach greatness (again)
 
Have you ever studied the compositional and harmonic techniques he employed in God Only Knows?  it's astounding

News from Pitchfork today:



Today, the L.A. Times reports
that Gershwin's estate has authorized Wilson to complete unfinished
songs that Gershwin left behind when he died. According to the Times, Wilson "plans to finish and record at least two such pieces on an album of Gershwin music he hopes to release next year."

The piece goes on to say that Brian is "thrilled to death" ,and that Gershwin left behind several dozen fragments in various stages.
Did Gershwin like fast cars ? Did he surf? Can't wait for the results.
