I'm working up a review of Adam Marsland's new double album, "Go West", but -- seeing as there are 23 songs -- it might take awhile to write it up (I like getting into details).
Meanwhile, I'll say that this is absolutely, without a doubt, one of the strongest albums I've EVER heard, indie artist or not. If you're a fan of classic '70's rock and roll, funk, disco, R&B and pure pop, this album will do it for you, I promise.
Great songs, great musicianship and execution, really strong lyrics (as always for Adam), and a compelling, relevant, sometimes disturbing, sometimes exhilarating, always engaging story-line. This is one of those double-albums that flows effortlessly, with excpetionally strong transitions between songs and absolutely perfect sequencing. I daresay this thing is about as perfect as it gets!
