I'm afraid that the discussion that I brought up on Shazam's "Meteor" album a few weeks ago probably left some folks with a bad impression of the album. I was questioning how little new material was on the new album which was their first in like about 5 or 6 years.
But now I can say, after living with the "Meteor" album for probably a month now, that it is a great album. I can really imagine considering it a Top 5 2009 album by year end. "Don't Look Down", "Dream Crusher Machine", and "Always Tomorrow", in particular, are great songs that can get stuck in you mind, and live there for a couple of hours, even when you're not listening to the CD.
It may be a bit of a 'grower' because they've changed slightly in a stylistic sense. Maybe gone just a bit - and I'm bad with Rock sub-genres sometimes - Prog. Not all the way or anything; just a little Prog. But once you get used to the new sound, it's a great, engaging album.
