Hi Mark...

Definitely go for Koss or Senheiser... which have a large offer and include some excellent models on the low price range.

You might want to check Koss's SportaPro at $30 but you have a wide range of lower price models

Added advantadge is the fact that they supply replacementt ear cushions (for the models that use them). Maybe Sennheiser also does this, I really haven't looked into it since I've been using Koss for lightweight portables.

I've read though that Koss's ear cushion spare sets have been bought by people owning models from other brands, since they seem to fit well in some cases....

However, if you're willing to expand your budget up to say $80 and experience your records/cds, etc, in a totally new perspective... try Grado.... I've a SR60 set and it blew me away the first time I used them (still does). But be prepared... all your recordings will sound different... crisp sound that attacks your ears in a way that you'll want no other set afterwards.

Hi - I'm looking for a lightweight set of over the head headphones, that
has a bright sound, i.e. not muddy or base heavy. Radioshack used to
make a nice cheap pair, that surprisingly had a good sound. The problem
was that they were easy to break. But given the price, I didn't mind
having to buy several pairs every year. Then, radioshack discontinued
the model. I bought a bunch of them at the time, but now I'm down to my
last pair. I tried doing a search on the web for something similar, but
I haven't found anything that doesn't have someone complaining about a
muddy sound. Any recommendations anyone? Thanks. - Mark
