Interesting question. I loved the debut by Elastica and waited
patiently for a followup. After a couple years and reports that the
group was mired in personal and musical difficulties, I pretty much wrote
the group off. When they finally released "The Menace" around 5 years
later, and the results sounded as if it was bashed out in a week's
time, the length of time really biased by opinion of that release. If
they had released something that thrown together a year or so after the
debut, I think I would have been much more forgiving. Mark E
