There's nothing wrong with the albums, but the quality of transfer technology/equipment has so greatly advanced since 1997
that the difference between the last batch of Parlaphone cd's and these are going to be night and day, regarding clarity of sound.
I got a feeling it's gonna be like the Chicago remasters: like peeling layers of dirt off the original to reveal an
audio masterpiece. The high end and the presence of the guitars and the drums are gonna sparkle and sizzle.
I can't wait to hear the bass on my Bose 401's. The vocals will shine even brighter and any hiss from the tape source
will be GONE.
If they truly are just albums that you've heard a million times and are sick of??!!?!, then you may not need to get these. And in these times money is tight for all.
(I've already sold all my old Beatles cd's to get the new ones.), However, I still have a few million times more to enjoy them
before I leave this planet one day, and I'd like to do it with the best possible audio experience available.
I'm excited and I don't think I'll be disappointed in any way.
I don't think I'm alone here. And you don't have to be a "gear-head" to know the folks at Apple/Parlaphone
are using the BEST people and equipment for the job. It's all about quality and preserving musical history.
Sure, marketing has reared it ugly head,(re-master, re-package, re-sell, oh my!), but this time I'm not concerned with the marketing shtick outweighing the product quality
as in the Capitol Years remasters.
I hope I answered your question.
later,joe
