Hello -

We (The Luxury) are about to start our nationwide college mailing for our
second album, which has gotten a bunch of great criticism around here in
Boston and from a few people across the web (including our own Sam Smith and
Bruce Bodeen from Not Lame Records, who will be carrying the record
shortly).

About us: Formed in 2005, first album released in 2007, charted on the CMJ
top 200. In Boston, we were chosen by Coldplay to open their Boston Garden
show last August, and we recently won the 31st annual Rumble and nearly sold
out the Paradise Rock Club when we released the disc, so things are going
well locally. With the college mailing we are looking to grow the snowball
and go national (to the best of our ability without label support). Part of
that will (hopefully) be to have reviews coming in as the record makes its
way across the nation.

The music is rooted in power pop, but pushes outward with synths, odd time
signatures and darker passages into some prog and psych realms. The album is
a bit of a head-trip, lots of segues and "tricks". We were going for a
"headphones record" and got most of the way there.

I know that this place is a WEALTH of knowledge for pop writers and
reviewers. I heartily appreciate and look forward to your suggestions.

Cheers,
Jason

remarkable album." - The Last Broadcast
