95% of the time, I listen to MP3s (on iPod or computer) purchased or CDs
ripped at 256 Kbps. I mention the bit rate because this is last real
remaining sore spot for me when it comes to "downloadable" or "portable"
music. The sore spot being...the music sounds like crap!! I have toyed
with the idea of lossless formats, but then the amount of music that you
can store or take with you is limited. I hate the fact that most people
are listening to music that sounds terrible and don't even realize it.
Curse you, convienience!!!
I love to listen to CDs or LPs on my home theater, but don't do it often
enough.
I download most of my music from Amazon and very little from iTunes. I buy
CDs from Not Lame on occassion.

Subject: How Are You Listening?
Hey Audities Folks,
Had a question I was hoping to get some feedback on if you were kindly
willing to offer your opinions. Also think it might be of casual
interest to everyone here as well -
I'm currently exploring some traditional release options for my latest
album, "Queens English", but I'm also entertaining the option of
self-release (w/ proper distribution in place, etc). Along those lines,
I was curious to learn about your musical preferences these days in
terms of format - How are you purchasing / listening to the majority of
your music today? mp3 download? CD? Vinyl? A mixture? Wire
recorder? ;-)
Seriously, just a sort of informal poll of the pop intelligentsia based
here on the list.
Thanks for your input!
Best,
Mark
