and I am proud to say I even PLAYED with a few crappy bands at a few 
RUMBLE'S in the late '80's!!!

Absolutely true. I'll give WFNX credit for supporting local rock in 
general,
but at WBCN and WAAF, from what I can tell, it's an uphill fight to get 
them
to care. And it's a battle that people like Anngelle, Shawn, Carmelita 
and
Shred have fought hard for years.

It's a shame, because while there will be crappy bands in every town 
that
has 3,000 bands or more, Boston really does have an incredible amount of
talent. The fact that the Rumble happens year after year with 24 acts 
that
have never played it before but are good enough to be considered is
testament in itself.
