Well, because FNX -- as all great radio stations almost by definition
must be -- is locally owned and considers it sacrosanct that they keep
a connection with their local audience.

True, though it doesn't explain why all the bands that practice in my
neighborhood are so crap. We've had one drummer living next door for
two solid years: he practices a couple hours every day, and somehow he
never gets any better!
