Heh. It was hysterical listening to Billie Joe explaining to a crown in
Denver some years back that GD was not a punk band. They were a "melodic
California pop band."
If I were going to nominate GD here, though, my cerebral side might
actually scroll back to something like /Insomniac/, when they were very
deliberately riffing on The Kinks. Who were, in my opinion, a decent
power pop band....
