Subject Question for audities bands who have their albums on eMusic

Having just added my two-bits on another thread that had evolved into a
genre-definition question, I write this to try to clarify what's going
on at eMusic.

It seems that many bands have no idea what might even be close to the
genre we call Power Pop...I've even found hip-hop bands listed as such.

Thus, my question is whether there is any kind of "quality control" on
genre listings, or do bands get to decide for themselves? And,
furthermore, is there the temptation to list as many genres as one can?
